    Nishant Patnaik Dec 1, 2017

IFAs of Rajasthan have formed an IFA association called Financial Advisor Association of Rajasthan (FAAR) with an aim to improve their public speaking and soft skills. This association holds a knowledge session once in two month in which at least one member has to share business development tips that have helped them grow business.

Jaipur-based Rajesh Kumar Sodhani of Sodhani Investments and the President of FAAR told Cafemutual that they have formed this association with the sole purpose of raising the intellectual capital of IFAs.

Talking about the knowledge sessions of the association, he said, “In these knowledge events, one of us has to deliver a presentation on tips that have helped grow business. The other members give feedback. The topic can be related to business such as ‘How I file tax returns of my advisory firm’, Acquiring women clients’ and ‘Converting prospects into clients’. This activity has helped us improve our public speaking and soft skills ,” he says.

Rajesh further said that the association also holds an annual event in which AMC officials and outside speakers give insights on business development topics such as referral marketing and social media marketing. In addition, the association holds session on key issues related to advisory business such as GST, Aadhaar linking and FATCA compliance.

Rajesh said that the association has 143 members across Rajasthan with a combined AUM of Rs.2800 crore.

Take up the matter of Aadhaar linking with finance ministry as well as SEBI. How they will not pay our redemption moneys if Aadhaar is not linked with MF folios. First of all there should be sufficient Aadhaar card kendras in our area. We give the full birth date in Aadhaar form still they put only year of birth. They don't print our mobile no in Aadhaar. There are so many mistakes they make in name and address. So I don't know how all folios will become Aadhaar linked. I think that due to Aadhaar link 3 to 4 lakhs crores of MF AUM will become temperorily unclaimed. Aadhaar we have to link for all the unit holders, that is also madness. Instead of IAP and other initiatives, associations of Ifas should take up our burning problems like Aadhaar linking, GST and regulatory changes. But nobody bothers about these problems. We tolerate everything. Pl do the needful if my contention is proper.
