Debt papers will be more transparent

Issuers of debt securities have to disclose their financial results on the exchanges in line with the corresponding requirements for issuers of listed equity.
    Padmaja Choudhury Dec 29, 2017

SEBI has directed debt issuers to disclose their financial results on the exchanges in line with the requirements of equity issuers. The move will improve the transparency in the debt markets.

SEBI said that issuers of listed debt should disclose their financial results to the exchanges within 45 days of end of the first three quarters and 60 days of end of the last quarter. Such disclosures should include statement of profit and loss on a quarterly and year-to-date basis and statement of assets and liabilities/ balance Sheet on a half-yearly basis.

Issuers of listed debt should also disclose their audited annual consolidated financial results on the exchanges within 60 from the end of the financial year.
