A step-by-step guide to use CAMS eKYC facility through which you can do biometric KYC of your clients
    Nishant Patnaik Apr 25, 2018

The newly launched CAMS eKYC app has made onboarding a client easier and simpler. With this facility, you can onboard clients within minutes.

You can now complete the biometric-eKYC of all your clients and the best part is that there is no investment limit for biometric-eKYC.

In an email communication, the company said, “CAMS has introduced a seamless process which will help you to complete the biometric-eKYC (for limitless investment) of all your clients through the CAMS eKYC mobile app. This will be an 'On-The-Go' process enabling you to complete the KYC process at the comfort of your home/office/client's place without any documentation. All that is required is to procure a USB model biometric device for connecting with your mobile and complete the biometric process.”

You will need to buy a biometric device to complete the eKYC process. Currently, this device costs Rs.1,950 in Mumbai excluding 18% GST and courier charges.

Here is the step-by-step guide to onboard a client in just a few minutes

    • You have to download CAMS eKYC app on your mobile by clicking here
    • Since this is a ZIP file, you will have to extract and install the APK file
    • You can register in the app as a fresh user by selecting Distributor option from the dropdown list
    • Key in your EUIN as user id, ARN in company name and create a password of your choice. If you do not have ARN, you can mention the name of your company. However, you have to ensure that your email id and mobile number match with AMFI database records. The system will de-activate you if these do not match
    • The system will activate your account after you complete the registration process
    • The app will give you both options – OTP and biometric KYC
    • While your clients will have an investment limit of Rs.50,000 in mutual funds through OTP based eKYC, there is no such limit for investments if you follow biometric-eKYC. However, you will need to keep track of pop-up messages on the app to complete biometric-eKYC
    • Before carrying out biometric-KYC, remember to get your biometric device whitelisted. You can do this by sending an email requesting whitelisting of your device and giving the biometric device serial number to this email id – support@goldlinesecuritysystems.co.in
    • Once you get confirmation message, you will need to download Mantra Client app and Mantra RD service app to carry out biometric-eKYC of your clients
    • However, ensure that you have enabled ‘download apps from unknown sources’ under security tab of app settings. Disable this option once you have downloaded both the apps
    • Remember to test run the device and app by using your own fingerprint
    • If you get green light on the top of the device on test run, you can carry out biometric-eKYC
    • In case you forget your password, you can write to ekycservices@camsonline.com
