RIAs can use BSE Star MF platform to recommend direct plans to investors

Schemes of 20 AMCs will be available for RIAs on BSE Star MF platform.
    Darshita Shah Dec 14, 2016

After SEBI allowed RIAs to use the stock exchange platform to facilitate direct plans, BSE has started offering direct plans on its Star MF platform for RIAs.

A BSE notification said that schemes of 20 AMCs will be available for RIAs. These AMCs are Axis, Birla Sun Life, DSP BlackRock MF, Edelweiss, HDFC, ICICI Prudential, IDBI, IDFC, Indiabulls, IIFL, Invesco, Kotak Mahindra, L& T, LIC, Motilal Oswal, Peerless, PPFAs, Reliance Nippon, Tata and UTI.

RIAs don’t need to pay any membership or annual fees to use this service. They can register online on Star MF platform. Click here to register.

Jayant Vidwans of Vidwans Financial Advisories says stock exchange platforms will allow RIAs to provide a seamless transaction experience to their investors.

BSE’s rival NSE is also expected to launch this service for RIAs  next month.

There are around 450 RIAs registered with SEBI.
