Rajendran had stepped down as the CEO of AMFI last week.
    Nishant Patnaik Dec 23, 2016

AMFI will start scouting for the new CEO as C VR Rajendran has left the trade body last week.

Around a month back, RBI has approved the appointment of Rajendran as the new MD & CEO of Catholic Syrian Bank for a tenure of three years.

Rajendran had joined AMFI in September 2015. He succeeded H N Sinor. During Rajendran’s tenure, the mutual fund industry has had to deal with sweeping regulatory changes and a challenging business environment. Nevertheless, the industry has witnessed a growth of 23% in its AUM i.e. from Rs.13.24 lakh crore in October 2015 to Rs. 16.28 lakh crore as on October 2016.

Typically, AMFI invites applications from candidates having a minimum experience of 25 years in the financial markets with at least five years of experience in the role of a CEO or whole time director.

Non serious players who heads the organisation don't contribute any good thing for this industry.

Normally RBI spends almost six months to clear selection of chairman of any bank. Mr Rajendran joined AMFI as CEO in September 2015 and got is new position cleared by RBI in 13 months I.e., in October 2016. His comfort of being an effective CEO was just for first seven months. If he was to be comfortable of his accepted responsibility, he would not have look out for some other position.

He hold the position of CEO when AUM growth was at 23%. It is for any body's conscious either to offer or to take credit for that growth. Whenever we heard his in any occasion, we IFAs are to take preaching how to be self controlled as authorities and AMFI are planning to reduce the earnings of IFAs and asks us to find huge opportunity in CASA bank accounts.

At least now, who ever finalise the personality as CEO, give us the one who lead the industry for next five years with commitment and comfort.
