Vishal Kapoor, who was heading the wealth management arm at Standard Chartered Bank, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of IDFC Mutual Fund, says a press release issued by the company. Kapoor is expected to join the company by September.
The press release states that Kalpen Parekh will head Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and International Business in addition to his current responsibilities as MD – Sales & Marketing.
“Kapoor will be responsible for driving accelerated growth of IDFC AMC, heading a seasoned senior management team including Kalpen Parekh, Anoop Bhaskar and Suyash Choudhary,” said the release.
Kapoor has over two decades of experience in financial services across functions and businesses including asset management, banking and consumer marketing with a successful track record of building strong teams and sustainable businesses. His last assignment was with Standard Chartered Bank as the Managing Director, Head of Wealth Management, India. In his earlier stint, Vishal has been associated with American Express and ITC Threadneedle AMC, working across geographies.
Kapoor is a Management graduate from IIM Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
