‘Reading this book helped me achieve tranquility’

Deepak Khemani and Kevin Michael talk about the books which helped them in their profession and what they have learned from it.

    Deepak Khemani

Long back, I read a book ‘The Secret’ authored by Rhonda Byrne. It is a self-help book which says that positive thinking can open doors to happiness, health and wealth. If we think and feel positive, we will obtain positive and best results.

Another book which I read recently is ‘The 10X Rule: The Only Difference between Success and Failure.’ This book says that ‘massive action’ needs to be taken to achieve ‘massive results’. It is the best book to help us fulfill our business dreams.

Initially, I was not an avid reader. I attend a lot of seminars and conferences. In these conferences, the speakers showed us how reading can de-stress, help build strong analytical thinking skills and improve concentration. Thus, I have made it a habit to read at least 30 minutes every day. The results are noteworthy. Reading regularly has helped me improve my memory and achieve tranquility. Also, when a crisis situation arises, it helps me think calmly and turn adversity into success.

I read a book ‘Corporate Capsules: Three Simple Steps for Corporate Success’ authored by Dr. Cecil Clements. The book is also available in audio format.

The book says that there is a shortage of adequate role models in our workplaces. The insights shared by the author helps you become an inspired leader. After reading this book, I have been able to handle stress, defeat and burnouts better. I would recommend this book to all professionals who face a lot of stress and in their profession.
