When did you start running? What inspired you to run?
I started running since June 2015. I used to see, read and hear about people running marathons and I would get intrigued. But truly speaking, my friend Akhil Chaturvedi inspired me to start running and I haven't stopped since then. He continues to inspire me and keep moving.
How does running help you in your professional life?
Running has brought a lot of discipline in me. My diet and lifestyle has changed. As a result, I’m more energetic and I can focus better on my work. My productivity has gone up. I’m more cheerful. My clients find me sincere, reliable and dependable.
How do you balance your fitness regime and work?
Fitness is an early morning regime so it doesn't really affect my work. My social life does get affected because I have to sleep early.
Your most memorable running moment.
There are two memorable moments which I cherish. The first one is when I participated in my first organised run and crossed the finish line. It was exhilarating. The second memorable moment was when I convinced my dad to participate in a run and he got a finishers medal. I made it special as it was his first medal.
Do you run alone or with a group?
Initially I used to run alone and since then I have made so many friends that now we are a running group.
What are the similarities between running and investing?
Good question. Both are very similar. Initially when I started I could barely run one kilometre. But over a period of time, I have built stamina and endurance. Similarly, in investing one has to be diligent and patient. Over a period of time, the results are mind-blowing.
What would be your advice to someone who wants to start running for fitness?
Don't think. Just put on those shoes and start. Don't get worked up with distance and don't give up due to body pain. Just keep at it. Human body is designed to run. It's our only form of self-defence. So don't worry and start.
