Every equity mutual fund category has been offering negative average returns in the last one year. Small cap and mid cap schemes were hit the most, with -15.17 per cent and -11.62 per cent returns respectively, in the last one year. Equity schemes may continue with their poor show for at least some time, as the market sentiment is impaired because of a host of factors like economic prospects, NBFC crisis, FPI outflows, among others.
