Circa August 2016 investors poured in Rs. 20,000 crores crores into the now bankrupt Dewan Housing Finance Ltd. when all it wanted was just Rs. 4,000 crores in bond sale. On April 29, Bajaj FinanceNSE 3.07 %, the most sought after name in shadow banking industry till a few weeks back struggled to raise Rs. 200 crores from investors in a bond sale.
