    RBI pushes yield on 10-year G-secs back to below 6%

    The central bank accepted bids for 10-year and five-year bonds at 5.97% and 5.54% respectively in the latest auction

    The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday forced down yield on the 10-year benchmark bond below 6% in a special auction of government securities (G-Secs), smoothening the government’s massive borrowing programme. Data suggests that a category called ‘others’, which typically includes the RBI, was behind the auction’s success.
