“Underperformance of the equity mutual fund schemes, slide in assets under management (AUM), loss of confidence, and botched handling of events, likely flight of talent and change of sponsor are some reasons that have led to this decision,” said Prime’s co-founder Vidya Bala.

If the main reason for redemption call is "underperformance" I think they have gone wrong with their research. Franklin Equity funds have performed top performance during last one year and during last 3 years they are average. "loss of Confidence" yes. They need to act seriously to bring the confidence back.
