The company expects the facility to expedite the Aadhaar linking process, V.Ganesh, CEO, Karvy Computershare.

Karvy Computershare has launched distributor initiated Aadhaar linking (DIAL) through which you can link Aadhaar of your clients with their mutual fund folios.

Distributors need to click here to validate Aadhaar details of their clients. Enter your ARN code and PAN of the investor. After keying in these details, you need to enter Aadhaar number of the investor and submit it. Your clients will get SMS and Email asking them to click on the hyperlink to verify the details, provide consent and confirm. That is all.

Recently, the government has extended the deadline for fund houses to link Aadhaar number with the mutual fund folios to March 31, 2018 giving you some more time to comply with the norms. Post March, AMFI has asked fund houses to freeze non-Aadhaar compliant accounts. This means, non-Aadhaar compliant investors cannot execute fresh mutual fund transactions.

“We expect this faciity will surely expedite the Aadhaar linking process, as the distributor fraternity received it very well, which is evident from the number of submissions,” said V. Ganesh, CEO, Karvy Computershare.
