Partnering an ND can get you support in terms of business development and support, attractive payouts, infrastructure support. However, the final call must be based on your needs and preferences.
Hi,
At the outset, let me congratulate Cafemutual Team for providing the wonderful platform. It is indeed very informative.
I have recently cleared AMFI MF Distributor Examination and have got an ARN. I have been working in the financial sector for 14 years. At this juncture, I have decided to start my own venture/build my own business. I am ready with company name, logo etc. I am going to get my brand name registered with trade mark authority but I would be starting off as an individual IFA as of now. I have many queries in my mind but the topmost is to go solo or get associated with national distributor?
I would request you to help me with an honest and genuine advice about starting off with national distributor or on my own. Please share pros and cons to empanel with national distributor as a sub-broker. Besides this, please share whether there is any difference between payouts (RAP, Upfront/Trail) if we compare payouts through ND and through AMC directly.
I would be obliged if you could share some other relevant information to help me start off on a positive note and establish this venture of mine.
Thanks & Regards
B. Roy

Dear Mr Roy,
Congratulations on deciding to be an Advisor – not only can it be a well-paying career but also an intensely satisfying career as you enable people to reach their life goals through proper planning. Our best wishes to you.
On going solo vs taking the ND partnership route, it is essentially a matter of your own preference and choice. Partnering an ND can get you support in terms of business development and support, attractive payouts, infrastructure support.
What you should do is to talk to some of your experienced advisers about their experience. It would also be a good idea to meet the Managers of some of the NDs and get a first-hand sense of what they have to offer.
