How to become a mutual fund
distributor
I'm a
retired govt. servant aged 61 with more than 30 years of work experience with
Govt. of Bihar.
I
wish to be a mutual fund Advisor in Patna as I find people in Tier-II &
Tier-III cities aren't investing their savings adequately in mutual funds, and
even the participation is abysmally low.
Please
do let me know how I can become an MF Advisor.
Many Thanks,
Regards,
CMP Sinha
Dear Mr. Sinha,
Good
to know that you wish to help people channelize their savings in mutual funds.
You have to register on NSE website:
https://www.enit.co.in/ORE/OREregisterCandidate.jsp
After registration, you have to pay fee for NISM MF Distributors Certification
Examination Series-V A.
NSE will send you a soft copy of the course material. If you want a hard copy then there's a nominal fee. The book will be couriered to your address.
Once you are adequately prepared to appear for exams, you can choose a nearest
NSE test centre to appear for exams. The test results are displayed immediately
after giving the exams.
Once you pass this exam, you have to fill this form and send it to AMFI, along with the fee (Rs. 3,000) and NISM passing certificate:

After you receive your ARN card from AMFI you can empanel with fund houses and
start your practice.
