I run a sole proprietorship firm where ARN is in my company’s name and EUIN is in my name. Now, I will have to make changes to the name of the company to comply with the SEBI regulations. Please help me navigate through the procedure and list of documents required.

Dear Distributor Friend,
Since sole proprietorship firms are mostly not registered with any organization or statutory body, they can make a request to change their entity’s name to AMFI. In case if your firm is registered with Shop and Establishment Act or Udyam/Udyog/ MSME, you will have to follow necessary procedure of the respective authority.
AMFI has prescribed a standard application form for requesting a name change. You can download it by clicking here.
Such an application has to be supported by your existing PAN, details of new bank account carrying the name of new company and GST registration number with the new company name (if applicable). You can submit self-attested photocopies of these documents along with the prescribed form.
You will have to submit all these documents at CAMS point of sales through post or physically.
Once your application goes through, you will have to mention that you are ‘AMFI registered mutual fund distributor’ along with the name of new company. Also, incorporate changes in letterheads, logo, visiting cards, stationary, rubber stamps, website, social media handles and signature line used in communication.
