    Meet the PMS providers with the largest AUM

    SBI, UTI and Darashaw & Company are the top three players in PMS.

    Data compiled from SEBI and the Association of Portfolio Managers in India (APMI) shows that SBI Funds Management, UTI Asset Management and Darashaw & Company are the top three PMS in India.

    With the assets of Rs.13 lakh crore, SBI Funds Management is top of the ranking table. UTI Asset Management secured second position with AUM of Rs.12 lakh crore. Darashaw & Company is a distant third with AUM of Rs.1 lakh crore in Jan, 2024.

    Of the total PMS AUM of Rs.32 lakh crore, these three players command 91% or Rs.26 lakh crore.

    Nippon Life India Asset Management and Enam Asset Management were the next two PMS with AUM of Rs. 70,000 crore and Rs. 40,000 crore, respectively.

    Other players in the top 10 were IIFL Wealth Portfolio Managers, ASK Investment Managers, IIFL Asset Management, Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) and Quantum Advisors.

    Of the total PMS AUM, discretionary PMS contributes a major share of Rs 26 lakh crore. Non-discretionary account for Rs.2.60 lakh crore, co – investment contributes Rs.742 crore and advisory brings in Rs.2.71 lakh crore of PMS assets.

    PMS AUM excluding EPFO/PF assets

    Rankings of top 10 PMS players change if we exclude EPFO/PF assets. The data shows that of the total AUM of Rs 32 lakh crore, the AUM of the PMS industry excluding EPFO/PF investments stood at Rs.9 lakh crore on Jan 31, 2024.

    UTI AMC, Nippon Life India AMC  and SBI Funds Management are the top three players in PMS assets excluding pension assets.

    UTI AMC is the largest player with AUM of Rs,1 lakh crore. While Nippon Life India AMC manages AUM of Rs.70,000 crore, SBI Funds Management has AUM of Rs.52,000 crore.

    Enam AMC, IIFL Wealth and Ask are the next three PMS providers.

    The top 10 PMS players excluding EPFO/PF contribute a lion’s share of Rs 4.50 lakh crore in the total AUM which is half the total AUM excluding EPFO/PF investments as of Jan 31,2024.
