The latest AMFI data shows that Maharashtra, New Delhi and Karnataka are the top three states/UTs in terms of debt assets.

Of the total assets of Rs.12,41 lakh crore, Rs.9 lakh crore or 72% of debt funds is from Maharashtra.

AMFI does not provide the asset break-up of different cities but it is quite likely the largest chunk is from Mumbai and Pune due to the presence of large corporates.

New Delhi and Karnataka follow Maharashtra in the second and third position respectively.  Both New Delhi and Karnataka have debt AUM of Rs.1.48 lakh crore and Rs.1.11 lakh crore respectively.

Gujarat and Haryana are in fourth and fifth position in terms of debt assets in absolute terms.

In terms of proportion of debt assets to the total MF AUM of state, Mizoram (76%) has secured the first position followed by Maharashtra (72%), Haryana (72%), Nagaland (63%) and New Delhi (62%).
