    SBI MF, ICICI Pru MF, HDFC MF have highest market share in T30 cities

    These fund houses have assets of over Rs.3.50 lakh crore from top 30 cities.

    SBI Mutual Fund has the highest market share in T30 cities. Of the total assets of Rs.5.06 lakh crore,  T30 assets  account for 78% or Rs.3.94 lakh crore as on March 2021.

    ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund and HDFC Mutual Fund follow SBI Mutual Fund with assets of Rs.3.50 lakh crore and Rs.3.49 lakh crore, respectively. The next two in the list are Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund with assets of Rs.2.27 lakh crore and 2.12 lakh crore, respectively.

    These findings is based on analysis of the year end monthly AUM data done by Cafemutual. T30 refers to the top 30 geographical locations.

    T30 AAUM comprises equity, debt, balanced schemes, exchange traded fund (gold & others), and fund of funds investing overseas. It takes into account contribution through direct plan, associate distributors, and non - associate distributors. And, is a total of contribution of sponsor and its associates and contribution of other than sponsor and its associates.

    The next five fund houses are Nippon India Mutual Fund (Rs. 1.89 lakh crore), Axis Mutual Fund (Rs. 1.61 lakh crore), UTI Mutual Fund (Rs. 1.42 lakh crore), IDFC Mutual Fund (Rs. 1.13 lakh crore) and DSP Mutual Fund (Rs. 0.84 lakh crore).

    Overall, the total monthly AAUM of the top 25 fund houses was Rs. 31.80 lakh crore of which Rs.26.64 lakh crore or 84% of the total assets was from T30 locations. Equity and debt contribute Rs. 8.99 lakh crore and Rs. 13.62 lakh crore respectively from T30 locations. These form around 33% and 51% respectively of the total T30 AAUM.
