Thanks to the unique initiative by Tata Mutual Fund titled ‘My Self Belief, My Journey’, we get to know about the inspiring journey Retired Colonel MFD Sunil Diddee.

Last month, Tata Mutual Fund along with Cafemutual launched a contest ‘My Self-Belief, My Journey’ to highlight inspiring journey of MFDs who have overcome real life challenges. The idea was to encourage MFDs to share incidents that restored self-belief and inspired them to achieve newer heights. Retd. Col. Sunil Diddee.

Sunil joined the Indian Army in 1989. During his exemplary service, he was a part of Operation Vijay in Kargil and also served at Siachen Glacier. He was in the army for 22 years before retiring voluntarily.

Sunil was always intrigued by mutual funds and his journey to becoming an MFD started when he first invested in them. He closely followed his investments and undertook detailed research for understanding their nitty-gritty. He believed that people can achieve financial freedom through mutual funds.

Sunil became an MFD post retirement at 50. He started off as a sub broker and later in 2017, he floated his own MF distribution business Fauji Wealth.

From the beginning, Sunil offered his services to military personnel. Since the military personnel embrace uncertainties while discharging their duties, they need a financial product that can take care of their family along with their financial goals, he believes.

He also offers his services to people who come from non-military backgrounds through referrals.

Overtime, his business has grown and soon he was able to build a six-member team and moved to a bigger office space. He currently manages assets under advisory of Rs.25 crore in mutual funds.

This is Retd. Col. Sunil Diddee’s story that shows that one can achieve his goals no matter when one starts.

Keep looking at this space as the remaining 3 stories will be out soon…
