Congratulatory messages poured in for Indian medal winners in Tokyo Olympics as they brought home highest-ever number of medals for India from the global event.
The mutual fund industry was not far behind in showering praises on the Indian contingent. From MF executives to distributors, many MF professionals took to Twitter and other social media platforms to 'salute the players'.
Sharing a collage of all the winners and top performers, CEO of Nippon India MF Sundeep Sikka said the contingent's performance was 'very proud and emotional moment for every Indian'.
"Tokyo2020 is the best ever Olympics for India. Very proud and emotional moment for every Indian. Salute to all players & their coaches. Very confident now other sports will also come to centre stage, in our cricket loving country," he tweeted.
MD and CEO of Edelweiss MF Radhika Gupta said India has not just earned medals but also new icons. "Loved this Olympics. We cheered for wrestling, hockey, javelin, boxing, golf, badminton and more. Our hearts swelled with joy sometimes and broke a few times, but nearly each day gave us something to hope for. And we say Sayonara, having earned not just medals, but new icons," she said.
Among mutual fund distributors, MD & CEO of Sapient Wealth Amit Bivalkar thanked Neeraj Chopra for bringing gold for the country. "I bet there will be no-one in India who didn't cry when the national anthem played at the victory ceremony of javelin throw. Thank you Neeraj Chopra," he tweeted.
Agra-based MFD Dipesh Sethia said Neeraj Chopra's victory was a proud moment for every Indian. "It was a great moment for India to hear its national anthem play in Tokyo. All medal winners have made us proud," he said.
AMCs also used their social media accounts to praise players. Axis MF congratulated Neeraj Chopra for winning gold medal by calling his performance 'skyrocketing'. L&T MF said India's performance is deserving of a place in the history books.
