    SBI, HDFC, ICICI Pru: Top three fund houses with highest B30 AUM

    In percentage terms, Sundaram MF, Baroda MF, UTI MF and Canara Robeco MF have highest proportion of their assets coming from B30 location.

    SBI Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund have a deeper penetration in B30 geographies, shows an analysis of AUM disclosure as on June 2021 done by Cafemutual.

    SBI Mutual Fund has remained the top fund house in the list of fund houses with highest B30 AUM. Of the total assets of Rs.5.38 lakh crore, Rs.1.13 lakh or 21% has come from B30 location.

    HDFC Mutual Fund and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund follow SBI Mutual Fund with assets of Rs.64,000 crore and Rs.60,000 crore, respectively. These assets formed 15% and 14% of their total assets, respectively.

    UTI Mutual Fund and Nippon India Mutual Fund occupy the fourth and fifth spot with B30 assets of Rs.49,000 crore and Rs.47,000 crore.       

    The next five in this list are - Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund (Rs.45,000 crore), Axis Mutual Fund (Rs. 40,000 crore) Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund (Rs.23,000 crore), DSP Mutual Fund (Rs.15,000 crore) and Mirae Asset Mutual Fund (Rs.12,000 crore).

    In percentage terms, Sundaram Mutual Fund has the highest proportion of its assets coming from B30 cities at 26%. Baroda Mutual Fund (25%), UTI Mutual Fund (25%), Canara Robeco Mutual Fund (24%) and SBI Mutual Fund (21%) follow Sundaram Mutual Fund.      

    Overall, the MF industry has seen 16% of the assets coming from B30 location. Of the total assets of Rs.33.68 lakh crore, Rs.5.47 lakh crore has come from B30 cities as on June 2021. Equities have held a dominant share (59%) in these cities whereas debt formed 29% of B30 assets.
