‘It all started with a casual conversation’, revealed Deepak Khandelwal of R G Associates, Jaipur while sharing his story with Cafemutual.
Deepak has been regularly conducting SIP drives and has booked more than 100 SIPs multiple times. One day while having a SIP drive oriented discussion, one of his friends casually stated ‘You must now strive for more than 1000 SIPs’. Deepak took it as a challenge and did a massive SIP drive.
Here is how he executed it successfully.
- Team work
Deepak distributed work among his team for better execution. While two team members were assigned client-calling activities, the other two looked into operational functions. Additionally, another team member coordinated between these two teams and ensured a seamless registration of every SIP.
- Personal touch is important
Deepak along with his team started connecting with existing clients and referrals over the next two weeks. They jointly reached out to over 1000 investors through phone calls and meetings for a detailed discussion on increasing SIP amounts or starting new SIPs. He also convinced investors who earlier stopped their SIP during covid-19 to restart SIPs.
They highlighted the importance of following staggered investment approach through SIPs especially when the markets have been touching new highs.
- Well prepared to address concerns
Before approaching clients and prospects, Deepak prepared answers to frequently asked questions for a more fruitful discussion. While some clients were sceptical about starting a SIP in the current market scenario, Deepak illustrated the benefits of rupee cost averaging.
Overall, the drive saw the participation of more than 600 investors, including 45 first-time investors. The SIP amount ranged from Rs. 300 to Rs. 50,000. A total of 1011 SIPs amounting to Rs. 25 lakh were registered on 13 Sep 2021.
Deepak’s SIP drive highlights the importance of a clear bifurcation of roles & responsibilities. He also attributed reaching out to clients via meetings and phone calls as a key success factor of this drive.
