The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has flagged off the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign for promoting pension and retirement planning. It will observe Oct 1 as NPS (National Pension System) Diwas for encouraging people to plan their ‘azad’ retirement.
Using #npsdiwas, PFRDA aims to reach out to masses through its social media platforms.
In a press release, Supratim Bandyopadhyay, Chairperson, PFRDA said, “Through this campaign, we want to create awareness about pension planning among the public. As a regulatory body, our foremost aim is to cover all eligible citizens under a pension scheme to fulfil the vision of a pensioned society for India.”
As on Aug 21, the NPS industry has AUM of Rs. 6.47 lakh crore with over 4.53 crore subscribers.
