    Hybrid funds which are rated the best by Crisil

    Three aggressive hybrid schemes get top rating. Among conservative hybrid funds, two find place in the top bracket.

    In Crisil Research’s latest mutual fund scheme rankings, three aggressive hybrid funds have made it to the top league — the CRISIL Fund Rank 1. Schemes which are 'very good performing' according to Crisil find a place in the top slot.

    In the conservative hybrid space, two funds have got Rank 1. They are Canara Robeco’s conservative hybrid fund and LIC MF’s debt hybrid fund.

    The ranking across categories including equity, debt and hybrid is based on the analysis of 474 funds, which account for 79% of total open-ended industry assets.

    Here's the complete list of aggressive hybrid funds and conservative hybrid funds which have made it to the top two brackets (Rank 1 and Rank 2):

    Aggressive Hybrid funds

    BOI AXA Mid & Small Cap Equity & Debt

    This fund is one of the three aggressive hybrid funds to get Rank 1 from Crisil Research. The fund has delivered benchmark-beating returns during the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year periods. Its 3-year annualised return is 24% compared to 19% growth in benchmark, shows Value Research.

    The average return of the fund category is 18% during the same period.

    Kotak Equity Hybrid

    This fund has delivered 21% annualised return in the last 3 years compared to 19% rise in benchmark — the VR Balanced TRI. The fund lags behind the benchmark if we take into account 5-year returns.

    PGIM India Hybrid Equity

    The PGIM India Hybrid Equity has been promoted to the Rank 1 category from Rank 3 category in the March quarter. The fund's 1-year return is close to the benchmark's performance but lags behind significantly when looked at from 5-years perspective.

    Conservative Hybrid funds

    Canara Robeco Conservative Hybrid Fund

    This fund has a good performance record in the 3-year period as its annualised return of 13% is higher than the benchmark return of 12%. However, from the 5-year perspective, the fund has under-delivered. Its 5-year annualised return is 9% compared to 10% growth in benchmark.

    LIC MF Debt Hybrid Fund

    It has delivered an annualised return of 9% in the 3-year period. In the same period, the benchmark went up 12%. In the 5-year period, its return is 7% as against 10% growth in benchmark.
