ARN validity extension is not applicable for non-individual MFDs: AMFI

AMFI has extended validity of individual MFD’s ARN till April 1, 2022.
    Nishant Patnaik Jan 31, 2022

AMFI has extended the validity of ARN of individual MFDs expiring between March 15, 2020 and March 31, 2022 till April 1, 2022.

Further, AMFI has clarified that such an extension will not be applicable for non-individual MFDs. This indicates that individuals who run sole proprietorship, partnership, LLP or private limited firms will have to renew their ARN immediately to avoid suspension of ARN.

Also, employees of non- individual MFDs will have to renew EUIN.

In a communication, AMFI said, “It may be noted that the automatic extension of EUIN & ARN as per validity of NISM certificate is applicable only to individual ARN/EUIN holders, since NISM certification is applicable only to individuals. In other words, the extension of validity of NISM certificate has no relevance or bearing to ARN validity of non-individual MFDs. As such, non-individual MFDs are required to renew their ARN in time before the expiry of ARN validity by submitting their ARN renewal application along with the applicable fees either online through AMFI Website or at the nearest CAMS office.”

AMFI has urged MFDs to take up eCPEs so that they can renew their ARN on time.

You can renew your ARN online by visiting AMFI website once you clear your CPE training.  Also, you can send email to enq_amfi@camsonline.com for any clarity.
