Ahead of International Women's Day, L&T Mutual Fund has organised this year’s edition of 'Women of Merit' to celebrate the successes and strides that women have achieved in mutual fund distribution.
Held on March 3, the virtual event featured a star-studded lineup of Twinkle Khanna, Shenaz Treasurywala, Sunita Menon and Anu Menon. Cyrus Broacha popularly known as The Professional Idiot hosted the event.
The event, which was attended by over 200 women distributors, was aimed at encouraging more women to come forward and reign the world of financial distribution and advisory.
"At L&T Mutual Fund, we’ve always strived to bring together our partner community to create stronger bonds and further your businesses and this was one such initiative for our Women of Merit," said Chief Distribution Officer of L&T MF, Ankur Thakore.
Celebrated author, film producer and former actor Twinkle Khanna set the tone for the event with a humor-laden conversation with host Cyrus. Popularly known as Mrs. Funnybones, Khanna shared her journey from being an actor to a film producer to a columnist and finally an author.
Shenaz Treasurywala, India's top travel blogger and formerly an actor, shared the secret to successfully following one's passion. In a highly inspiring session, Treasurywala also recounted her thrilling experiences as a travel blogger.
Next up was Sunita Menon, an astrologer, celebrity tarot card expert and a life coach. In a 20-min long session, she shared interesting insights on numerology, law of manifestation and how to benefit from them.
Anuradha Menon, popular as Lola Kutty, ensured that the attendants left the event smiling. She did a standup act including pun around her gujju husband, her malayali parents, the mayhem of marriage, motherhood and her traumatic travels.
Concluding the event, the fund house thanked all the attendees and speakers for the event a success. "Thank you all for your time and involvement at today’s Women’s Day celebrations. We had to do the event virtually due to the Covid-19 situation. Hopefully, we will be able to meet face-to-face next year," L&T Mutual Fund said.
