Marathwada Independent Financial Advisor Association (MIFAA) conducted a box cricket league for MFDs. Overall, 72 MFDs participated in the cricket league including the organising committee members.
MFDs across Marathwada region from cities like Aurangabad, Jalna, Nanded, Parbhani, Beed, Latur and Buldhana participated in the league.
The one-day-long box cricket tournament hosted 8 teams. Each team had 8 players who played six-over matches. Interestingly, each team comprised MFDs who did not know each other and were from different cities.
Talking about the league, Sanjay Rojekar, President, MIFAA said, “Over the last two years, our members did not meet physically. All our activities were online. While we learnt a lot, the networking opportunity was missing. Hence, we decided to conduct this cricket league so that our members can get in touch with each other to learn from practical experience.”
The names of teams were in line with the IPL teams like Titans, Super Giants and Challengers. And Just like IPL, Titans won the finals in MFD league. In terms of individual performance, Ketan Nanivadekar and Sachin Mokle won the Best Bowler and the Best Batsman award respectively.
Members who made this league possible were Sandeep Deshmukh, Mani Joseph, Amit Vaidya and Chaitanya Pathak.
IDFC Mutual Fund supported MIFAA to conduct the cricket league.
