    Top 10 most bought and sold stocks by mutual funds in May

    HDFC AMC and Dabur were the most bought largecap stocks, while L&T Finance and Escorts Kubota were the most bought stocks in the midcap space.

    HDFC AMC, Dabur and JSW Steel were the most bought largecap stocks by mutual funds in May. As a result, the mutual fund holdings in HDFC AMC almost doubled to Rs. 695 crore at the end of May from Rs. 364 crore a month ago, shows an ICICI Direct report.

    Similarly, mutual funds were holding Rs. 2,454 crore worth of Dabur India stocks at the end of May, higher than Rs. 2,275 crore holding a month ago.

    The largecap stocks that fell out of favour with mutual funds were SAIL, IRCTC and Piramal Enterprises. The valuation of mutual fund holdings in SAIL dropped from Rs. 1,609 crore to Rs. 698 crore at the end of April.

    L&T Financial Holdings, Escorts Kubota and Alkyl Amines Chemicals were the top three midcap buys. On the other side, ABSL AMC, Ruchi Soya Industries and Aditya Birla Capital saw the highest sell-off from mutual funds.
