    Nippon, Axis and ICICI Prudential add over 1.50 crore folios in FY 21-22

    PGIM India, PPFAS and Mahindra Manulife see the highest percentage growth in the number of folios.

    AMFI data shows that Nippon India MF, Axis MF and ICICI Prudential MF added the highest number of folios during FY 21-22. They individually registered 70.22 lakh, 47.81 lakh and 33.30 lakh folios, respectively. Kotak Mahindra MF and SBI MF followed these companies in terms of addition of new folios. They added  18.70 lakh and 18.17 lakh folios, respectively.

    Overall, the top 30 fund houses (in terms of Mar 2022 AAUM) recorded a rise in their folio count except L&T MF and Franklin Templeton MF where the folio count declined by 9% and 15%, respectively.  

    In percentage terms, PGIM India MF, PPFAS MF and Mahindra Manulife MF recorded the highest growth of 212%, 175% and 98%, respectively.

    Interestingly, Nippon India MF, ICICI Prudential MF, Axis MF, UTI MF and SBI MF have over one crore folios accounts and hold the top five spots in the said order. They cumulatively manage 6.73 crore folios, forming 52% of the total 12.95 crore folios as on Mar 2022.

    Here is a year-on-year analysis of the top 30 fund houses (in terms of Mar 2022 AAUM).

    *1 - Baroda MF and BNP Paribas MF formed ‘Baroda BNP Paribas MF’ in Mar 2022

    *2 - FY 20-21 details of Quant MF and IIFL MF are not available

    *3 - NJ MF made its debut in Oct 2022
