Vedanta, Piramal Enterprises and IRCTC were the three most bought largecap stocks by mutual funds in June, amid a sharp correction in the equity market. Havells India, ICICI Lombard General Insurance and Grasim Industries were other major largecap buys last month, shows a report by ICICI Direct.
However, their total holding in terms of value still went down in Vedanta owing to a market correction. As of June-end, the holding of mutual funds in Vedanta was worth Rs. 1,736 crore, compared to Rs. 1,928 crore in May.
The largecap stocks which were sold the most include Macrotech Developers, Ambuja Cements and Tata Steel. The holding of mutual funds in Macrotech Developers went down from Rs. 242 crore in May to Rs. 166 crore in June.
Hindustan Aeronautics, Zomato and LIC also feature in the list of 'most sold' largecap stocks.

In the midcap segment, IDFC First Bank, HDFC AMC and Tata Communications witnessed the highest buying interest from mutual funds. Indian Energy Exchange, Bata India and Motherson Sumi Wiring were other names in the list.
The ones to be sold the most were SUN TV, L&T Finance Holdings and GMR Infrastructure.
