    ‘Mutual funds’ equity holdings rise 14% in a year’

    SBI and ICICI Prudential recorded the highest growth in equity assets.

    The equity holdings of top 20 mutual funds surged 14% in a year (June 2021 to June 2022) to Rs. 18.3 lakh crore despite the market remaining flat during the period, shows a report by Motilal Oswal Financial Services.

    SBI MF witnessed the highest growth in equity holdings. The largest fund house's equity asset base went up by Rs. 83,400 crore during the period, registering a 28% growth.

    ICICI Prudential also witnessed an impressive 21% growth in equity holdings.

    PGIM India, PPFAS and Canara Robeco lead the percentage growth chart. While PGIM India's equity assets rose 172%, PPFAS's holdings more than doubled to Rs. 16,500 crore in the last 12 months, shows the report.
