PMS firm Emkay Global Financial Services and brokerage Abira Securities are two more entities who have joined the queue for a mutual fund licence.
Emkay Global was founded in 1995 and is active in the PMS and AIF space apart from other wealth management verticals. Abira Securities is a Kolkata-based stock broking company established in 2012.
According to SEBI's updated list of mutual fund applications, there are now nine entities whose mutual fund applications are pending with the regulator. Of these nine entities, only two — Emkay Global and Abira Securities have filed for MF license this year.
The applications of Wizemarkets Analytics and Unifi Capital are pending with the regulator since December 2020.
There are three entities which have received in-principle approval and are awaiting final go-ahead. These companies are Bajaj Finserv, Zerodha Broking and Frontline Capital Services.
