In our ongoing ‘Iss Weekend Aapne Kya Kiya’ series, Kota MFD Pankaj Ladha shared that he along with his son Anant Ladha met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on January 8, 2023.

“On knowing about the finance minister’s planned visit to Kota, we reached out to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and submitted a meeting request. We feel truly honoured to get this opportunity,” said Pankaj.

He added, “The meeting was highly insightful and touched upon various economic aspects. It also strengthened the belief of India being an attractive investment and business destination.”

The father-son duo had also put forth their budget expectations during the meeting.

The Kota MFD said, “We largely shared income-tax-related suggestions and proposed replacing financial year with calendar year to align with the practice of other developed nations.”

“On the mutual fund front, we requested reviewing the current stamp duty mechanism. For simplifying the accounting of investments, we suggested charging stamp duty separately instead of deducting it from the transaction amount,” he added.

He concluded, “We can’t thank enough our Lok Sabha speaker and Finance Minister for their time and for listening to us. It was indeed a power-packed Sunday.”
