SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF continue to occupy the top three spots, shows the latest AMFI AUM data.

Going by these numbers, SBI MF individually manages assets of Rs 8.27 lakh crore as on September 2023. ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF manage the next highest asset base of Rs 5.82 lakh crore and Rs 5.25 lakh crore, respectively.

The next three rankings are also the same - Nippon India MF, Kotak MF and Aditya Birla Sun Life MF occupy the fourth, fifth and sixth spots, similar to the June quarter 2023 ranking. Their asset base individually stands at Rs 3.51 lakh crore, Rs 3.34 lakh crore and Rs 3.11 lakh crore, respectively.

However, the next two rankings have slightly changed. While UTI MF climbed one position to the seventh spot, Axis MF slipped one position to the eighth spot. They manage Rs 2.67 lakh crore and Rs 2.60 lakh crore, respectively.

On the other hand, Mirae Asset MF held the ninth spot with an average AUM of Rs 1.39 lakh crore.

Interestingly, nine out of the top ten names have remained the same except DSP MF, which entered the top-10 list this time. With an asset base of Rs 1.30 lakh crore, it overtook Bandhan MF (erstwhile IDFC MF) to occupy the tenth spot.

In absolute terms, the top three fund houses i.e. SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF reported the highest growth. Their assets collectively grew by Rs 1.54 lakh crore.

However, in pure percentage terms, Samco MF takes the lead. Owing to its modest base, the assets grew by over 50%. Two other fund houses, WhiteOak Capital MF and quant MF report over 30% growth.

Here’s how the fund houses have grown quarter on quarter. Figures mentioned are in crore.
