An analysis of industry AUM as on September 2023 shows Maharashtra, New Delhi, Gujarat are the top three states in terms of MF assets. Notably, these three states account for 57% of the total MF assets.
Maharashtra has the highest MF AUM contributing assets of close to Rs.20 lakh crore. The commercial capital of India contributed 41% of the total MF AUM which stood close to Rs.48 lakh crore as on September 2023.
New Delhi and Gujarat were the next two in the list with highest MF assets of Rs.4 lakh crore and Rs.3.33 lakh crore, respectively. Karnataka is marginally behind Gujarat with AUM of Rs.3.30 lakh crore.
Among other states in the top ten list are West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
