An analysis of AUM data done by Cafemutual shows that SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are the top 3 fund houses in terms of debt AUM in June 2024.
SBI MF tops the list of debt ranking with the highest debt AUM of Rs.2.38 lakh crore. The fund house derives 23% of its total assets from debt funds.
ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF take the second and third spots with debt AUM of Rs.2.31 lakh crore and Rs.2.09 lakh crore, respectively. Both the fund houses derive close to 30% of their total assets from debt funds.
Notably, these three fund houses are the only fund houses with debt AUM of over Rs.2 lakh crore.
Aditya Birla MF and Kotak MF complete the top 5 list of fund houses with AUM of Rs. 1.85 lakh crore and Rs. 1.46 lakh crore, respectively.
Other fund houses in the top 10 are Nippon India MF, Axis MF, Bandhan MF, Edelweiss MF and UTI MF. These fund houses manage debt assets of Rs. 1.42 lakh crore, Rs. 97000 crore, Rs. 89,000 crore, Rs. 84,000 crore and Rs. 80,000 crore, respectively.
In terms of proportion of debt AUM with respect to the total assets, Zerodha MF, Edelweiss MF and Bandhan MF have the largest part of their total assets coming from debt funds.
Overall, the industry manages debt assets of Rs. 18.01 lakh crore.

Liquid & overnight funds
In liquid and overnight funds, SBI MF leads with short term assets of Rs 87,000 crore. HDFC MF and ICICI Prudential MF capture the second and third positions with AUM of Rs.69,000 crore and Rs.58,000 crore, respectively.
Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Nippon India MF, Kotak MF, Axis MF and UTI MF each have liquid and overnight AUM of over Rs.40,000 crore.

If we look at other debt funds, ICICI MF has the highest AUM of Rs.1.60 lakh crore.
HDFC MF and SBI MF are the next two fund houses with AUM of Rs. 1.40 lakh crore and Rs. 1.33 lakh crore, respectively.
Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Kotak MF, Nippon India MF and Bandhan MF take the next spots in terms of other debt funds AUM.

In terms of passives AUM, Edelweiss MF has the highest passive debt assets of Rs. 77,000 crore. Nippon MF takes the next spot with AUM of RS 30,000 crore. SBI MF and Aditya Birla Sun Life MF take the next two spots with AUM of Rs. 18,700 crore and Rs. 18,690 crore, respectively.
