SEBI has constituted a new committee on issues pertaining to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters in the securities market.
The market regulator has appointed Navneet Munot, Chairman, AMFI and MD and CEO of HDFC AMC as the Chairperson of this committee.
The 21-member committee has one more member from the MF industry – Priyanka Dhingra, ESG Analyst, SBI Mutual Fund.
SV Murali Dhar Rao, ED, Corporation Finance Department, SEBI and Yogita Jadhav, GM, Corporation Finance Department, SEBI will represent the market regulator.
Other members are R Mukundan, MD and CEO, Tata Chemicals, Ritesh Tiwari, ED, Hindustan Unilever, Deeksha Vats, Group Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), Aditya Birla Group, Manish Kumar, Head-ESG & CSR, ICICI Bank, Pradeep Panigrahi, Head-Corporate Sustainability, L&T, Ashish Gupta, DGM, BPCL, Mukund Rajan, Chairman, ECube Investment Advisors, Seema Arora, Deputy Director General, CESD, Akash Prakash, Director and CEO, Amansa Capital, Rama Patel, Sr. Director and Chief Rating Officer, CRISIL ESG Ratings & Analytics, JN Gupta, Founder and MD, SES, Amit Tandon, Founder & MD, Institutional Investor Advisory Services, Shubhasis Dey, ED, Solution for Sustainable, Garima Dadhich, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Manojkumar Borekar, Head Sustainability, TUV India, Deepa Agarwal, Partner, SR Batliboi & Associates LLP and Ankit Jain, CEO and Founder, StepChange.
The committee will be responsible for:
- Developing the ESG ecosystem
- Studying ESG related development happening across the world
- Other matters related to ESG
