SBI MF, ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF are the leaders in terms of associate AUM figures, reveals an analysis of the latest AUM data by Cafemutual. They occupy the top three positions, managing Rs 2.35 lakh crore, Rs 65,300 crore, and Rs 46,200 crore in associate AUM, respectively.
Associate distributors are affiliates of fund houses. For instance, Axis Bank is the associate distributor of Axis MF.
Associate distributors have contributed about 7% of the entire MF industry AUM i.e. Rs 4.70 lakh crore out of the total MF AUM of Rs 68 lakh crore.
Axis MF and Kotak MF round out the top five with associate AUM of Rs 35,900 crore and Rs 15,900 crore, respectively.
Baroda BNP Paribas MF (Rs 14,500 crore), Aditya Birla Sun Life MF (Rs 9,400 crore), Canara Robeco MF (Rs 9,200 crore), HSBC MF (Rs 8,100 crore), and Union MF (Rs 6,300 crore) complete the top ten fund houses in terms of associate AUM.
The analysis further shows that 11 out of 42 fund houses did not have any AUM from associate distributors.

Proportion of associate AUM to the total AUM
Several fund houses have a significant proportion of their total AUM coming from associate distributors. NJ Financial MF leads this category with 80% of its total AUM classified as associate AUM.
Union MF and Baroda BNP Paribas MF also show high proportions of associate AUM at 32% and 31%, respectively. Shriram MF (25%) and BOI MF (22%) round out the top five in terms of associate AUM percentage.
Among other fund houses with significant associate AUM are SBI MF (21%), LIC MF (8.4%), Canara Robeco MF (8.3%), ICICI Prudential MF (7.5%), and JM Financial MF (7%).
