    SEBI launch an eLearning course on municipal bonds through NISM

    SEBI and NISM have launched an eLearning course on municipal bonds.

    The course is a 10-hour self-paced program which includes video lectures from experts, interactive quizzes and real-world case studies.

    The course is aimed to help individuals gain knowledge and practical skills to understand the concept of municipal bonds as a tool for financial development projects.

    The course will cover nuances of the alternative funding mechanisms, regulatory provisions for issuance and listing of municipal bonds and related compliances, roles and responsibilities of key market intermediaries, importance of project identification and investor outreach, escrow mechanism, credit rating, concepts of green municipal bonds and social impact bonds.

    According to the regulator, the course can also be beneficial for the state-level regulatory officials, finance department officials, policymakers and advisors engaged in urban infrastructure development and funding strategies.

    The course can be accessed for free till March 31, 2025 and thereafter at a nominal fee. The participants can get a certificate on successful completion of the course.
