    In this volatile time, which fund houses have seen the highest AUM growth in the last quarter?

    Motilal Oswal MF, PPFAS MF and ICICI Pru MF have registered the highest growth in their quarterly average AUM.

    The latest AMFI data shows that Motilal Oswal MF, PPFAS MF and ICICI Pru MF have recorded the highest growth in absolute terms in their average AUM in the January – March 2025 quarter.

    Motilal Oswal MF has recorded the highest growth in its average AUM of over Rs. 6,300 crore. The fund house’s MF assets have increased from Rs. 86,700 crore to Rs. 93,000 crore in Jan-March 2025.

    PPFAS MF is second on the leaderboard with an increase of Rs. 5,900 crore in its average AUM in the last quarter to see its MF assets grow from Rs. 95,800 crore to Rs. 1.02 lakh crore.

    ICICI Pru MF has also seen an increase of over Rs. 5,400 crore in its average AUM from Rs. 8.74 lakh crore to Rs. 8.79 lakh crore during this period.

    Bajaj Finserv MF and WhiteOak Capital MF complete the top 5 with an increase of Rs. 1,700 crore and Rs. 1,300 crore respectively in their assets in the recently concluded quarter.

    Other fund houses which have recorded growth of over Rs. 1,000 crore include LIC MF and Zerodha MF.

    Many fund houses have also seen a decline in their mutual fund assets. SBI MF, HDFC MF and Nippon India MF have seen the highest decline in their average quarterly AUM. SBI MF has seen a decline of over Rs. 41,000 crore. HDFC MF and Nippon India MF have seen a decline of Rs. 13,400 and Rs. 12,800 crore, respectively.

    Other fund houses which have recorded a negative AUM growth of over Rs. 1,000 crore in the quarter include UTI MF, quant MF, Mirae Asset MF, HSBC MF, Kotak MF, Franklin Templeton MF, DSP MF, Canara Robeco MF, Axis MF, Sundaram MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Mahindra Manulife MF, Invesco MF, PGIM India MF, Bandhan MF and Baroda BNP Paribas MF.

    In percentage terms, Zerodha MF, Trust MF and Old Bridge MF have recorded over 20% increase in their MF assets. Other fund houses to record over 5% increase in their MF assets includes Helios MF, Bajaj Finserv MF, WhiteOak Capital MF, Motilal Oswal MF and PPFAS MF.

    On the other end, quant MF, PGIM India MF, Mahindra Manulife MF, ITI MF, Taurus MF and Franklin Templeton MF have seen an over 5% decline in their MF assets.

    It is important to note that despite the volatility in growth of MF assets, SBI MF, ICICI Pru MF and HDFC MF continue to be the biggest fund houses of the country as of March 2025. They have recorded AUM of Rs. 10.73 lakh crore, Rs. 8.79 lakh crore and Rs. 7.74 lakh crore, respectively.

    Overall, the average AUM of the MF industry has decreased by Rs. 1.20 lakh crore in the January – March 2025 quarter. The average AUM of the industry has reduced from Rs.68.62 lakh crore in Sept-December 2024 to Rs.67.42 lakh crore in Jan-March 2025,  a decline of about 2%.
