Latest AMFI data shows that the mutual fund industry received 18,264 complaints from investors in FY25. The bigger fund houses received a higher number of complaints with HDFC MF, ICICI Pru MF and SBI MF recording a higher number of complaints.
Investor complaints include complaints about delay in allotment of units, data correction in investor details, non-updation of change in address, PAN, bank details, interest on delayed payment of redemption, non-receipt of dividend etc.
While HDFC MF received 2,041 complaints from investors during this period, ICICI Pru MF is second in the ranking with 1,486 complaints. SBI MF is third on the list with 1,339 complaints.
Nippon India MF, Mirae Asset MF and Axis MF have also recorded over 1,000 complaints from investors in the recently concluded financial year. These fund houses have received 1,310, 1,090 and 1,032 complaints, respectively.
Other fund houses which have received large number of complaints include Quant MF, Kotak MF, Motilal Oswal MF and Franklin Templeton MF.
Overall, the MF industry has 23.24 crore folios as of March 2025, making the number of complaints about 0.008% of the total folios.
