Overall, direct AUM of the industry has seen an increase of Rs. 6.65 lakh crore in FY25, a 27% increase from Rs. 24.7 lakh crore to Rs. 31.35 lakh crore.
Mumbai RIA Rohit Shah of GYR Financial Planners notes that while the number of RIAs has seen little increase, the growth in assets under RIAs has been due to increasing investor awareness and education. Also, he believes that a part of this increase may have been due to institutional RIAs who manage large AUMs.
Mumbai RIA Suresh Sadagopan of Ladder 7 Adssvisories also echoes a similar sentiment and believes that a substantial part of this growth comes from corporate RIAs. He said that higher compliance in individual RIAs is a major cause for slow growth in number of RIAs in India.
