    Nilesh Shah may join Kotak AMC as its CEO

    Nilesh has extensive experience in the mutual fund industry.

    Nilesh Shah, the ex-CIO at ICICI Prudential who most recently served as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Axis Capital may join Kotak AMC as its Chief Executive Officer, said sources.

    He is likely to join in mid January. Queries sent to Kotak remained unanswered till the time of writing.

    Nilesh is believed to have put in his papers at Axis Capital. Dharmesh Mehta has been appointed as the interim CEO of Axis Capital, flashed CNBC quoting Reuters.

    Nilesh had joined Axis Bank in 2011 as its president, strategic initiatives in the corporate banking division, after quitting as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. Nilesh has also worked with Franklin Templeton.

    The top slot at Kotak AMC was vacant after Sandesh Kirkire left the fund house in August 2014. Cafemutual first reported about Sandesh’s exit. Read here.

    Kotak AMC manages assets under management of Rs. 38,796 crore as on December 2014.
