The fund house has launched an investor awareness program (IAP) to address queries of investors related to investments with the help of IFAs.
As a part of its investor awareness program (IAP), JP Morgan Mutual Fund has launched an online platform called ‘Alphabet’ which aims to spread financial literacy among white-collared professionals and provide personalized investment advice to investors with the help of financial advisers.
Alphabet is a one-stop solution which helps investors understand the concept of mutual funds through videos, info graphics, presentations and blogs. It also offers user engagement activity like word jumble.
In a press release issued by the company, Nandkumar Surti, MD and CEO, JP Morgan MF said, “Alphabet is our initiative to build a bridge between deciding to invest and actually investing which will ultimately help investors to take informed investment decisions regarding their financial goals.”
Alphabet is live on LinkedIn, and intends to reach out to relevant set of professionals registered with LinkedIn in India who are looking to learn about investments and mutual funds. It will also be available on other social media platforms like YouTube and Slideshare.
Sharing the rationale behind launching this online platform on LinkedIn, Supreet Bhan, ED and Head-Retail Sales told Cafemutual that his company intends to create awareness among white-collared professionals. “Currently, LinkedIn has close to 2.8 crore Indian users who are predominantly white-collared professionals. These users are our potential investors. Secondly, this strategy helps make us understand about our target audience better. We know to whom we are reaching out to. We can develop a content strategy based on age and profession of users. For instance, a young professional may not be interested in his retirement planning; however, a professional who is in his 40s may be concerned about his retirement. Also, online platform is not only a cost effective way to spread financial literacy, but it also helps us monitor and measure the response of the target audience.”
The content strategy is focused on two segments – investment novice and investment savvy. While the portal sends simple communication related to basic concept of investments like importance of saving early and cost of financial procrastination to investment novice, it aims to update investment savvy with advanced concepts of investments like importance of asset allocation and market insights.
Interestingly, the portal provides an online investment advice to investors with the help of financial advisers through its section called ‘Alpha Scholars’. This section helps investors get their queries related to investments resolved within 3 business days. Currently, six financial advisers - Vishal Dhawan, Vinod Jain, Dhruv Mehta, Gajendra Kothari, Malhar Majumdar and Padmini Sundaram are listed to address such queries.
