HDFC AMC’s founding CEO Milind Barve has bagged the Maxwell Business Leadership Award 2015 for his contribution to the growth of HDFC AMC, said a press release issued by HDFC AMC.
“HDFC AMC has grown to become the most profitable AMC in the country. HDFC AMC has offered consistent investment performance and manages money for over 5 million accounts and continues to earn industry admiration through several prestigious awards. All this has been achieved with utmost integrity and highest level of ethical conduct,” said the release.
The award was presented by Maxell Foundation (a non-profit making public charitable trust) which was formed for conferring Maharashtra Corporate Excellence Awards.
Milind joined HDFC AMC in 2000. Under his tenure, HDFC AMC has become the largest fund house in the country with assets under management of Rs. 1.61 lakh crore on March 2015. Before joining HDFC AMC, he was heading HDFC’s treasury portfolio where he was responsible for raising funds from financial institutions and capital markets.
He conceptualized and launched HDFC Cancer Cure Fund in 2011 which generates a donation of Rs.15 crore every year, says the release.
