Anoop Bhaskar, one of the India’s best regarded fund managers, has joined IDFC Mutual Fund as its Head of Equities. He will take charge from tomorrow.
Bhaskar succeeds Kenneth Andrade, former Head – Investment at IDFC MF, who has reportedly been pursuing other entrepreneurial opportunities.
Prior to this, Bhaskar was Head - Equities at UTI Mutual Fund. Under his leadership, UTI MF’s flagship schemes UTI Equity Fund and UTI Mid Cap Fund have consistently outperformed their respective benchmarks by a wide margin. Of the total Rs.31,800 crore of UTI MF’s equity assets as on December 2015, Bhaskar was managing nearly Rs.14,500 crore.
Before joining UTI, Bhaskar worked with Sundaram Asset Management as Head-Equity. He was the fund manager of Sundaram MF’s flagship scheme Sundaram Select Midcap Fund. He has also worked with Templeton Asset Management as Senior Research Analyst, Shriram Financial Services as Manager-Investments and Brisk Financial Services and Cross Borders Finance & Project.

Bhaskar has over 23 years of experience in equity research and fund management. He is a B.Com from Delhi University and MBA in Finance from Symbiosis, Pune.
