Anuradha Rao has been appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO of SBI Mutual Fund, said a source close to the development.
Prior to joining SBI Mutual Fund, Anuradha was the Deputy Managing Director of new business at SBI Bank. She has also worked as the Chief General Manager of personal banking at the bank. She has over 30 years of experience in the banking sector.
Anuradha takes charge from Dinesh Khara who has been appointed as the managing director of SBI Bank.
This source told Cafemutual that the new CEO is expected to join the fund house on August 22.
Anuradha is the fourth woman CEO ever in the MF industry. The earlier woman CEOs include Sarojini Dikhale, CEO, LIC Mutual Fund, Ashu Suyash, former CEO of L&T MF who is now heading CRISIL and Kavita Hurry who used to head ING Mutual Fund from 2002 to 2007.
