Taher Badshah, Senior Vice President and Head – Equity, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has put in his papers, said a source very close to the development. Badshah will join Invesco Mutual Fund as Head – Equities by January 2017.
Under his leadership, Motilal Oswal MF’s flagship schemes like MOSt focused 25 fund and MOSt Focused Midcap 30 fund have consistently outperformed their respective benchmarks by a good margin.
Taheer joined Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund as Senior Fund Manager in June 2010.
Prior to joining Motilal Oswal MF, Badshah has worked in different capacities with organizations like Kotak Mahindra and ICICI Prudential. He has worked as a Senior Fund Manager for ICICI Prudential PMS for 3 years post which he worked with Kotak Mahindra Investment Advisors as a Fund Manager managing part of their long-only offshore equity assets between 2007 and 2010. He has spent the first 10 years of his career doing sell-side equity research and thereafter active fund management.
He is a B.E (Electronics) from University of Mumbai and MMS (Finance) from the SP Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai.
