Mumbai: BSE will shortly allow mutual fund investors to buy and sell mutual fund units through mobile phones. The exchange is currently working on operational aspects of the technology. Investors will need to log in to BSE’s StAR MF Platform through their mobile phone web applications.
Besides, the exchange will also announce the introduction of new additional facilities on its StAR Platform shortly. Currently 29 AMCs have listed their schemes on StAR MF Platform. There are 2,000 open end schemes listed on this platform.
BSE StAR MF was launched in December 2009. It introduced SIP facility on its platform from December 10, 2010.
Both NSE’s Mutual Fund Service System (MFSS) and BSE’s StAR MF Platform have yet to show any significant volumes.
